Frontier Builders Inc. is a family-owned and operated business that has been located in the Helena valley since 1993. Prior to this, Glenn Hayes owned and operated Glenn Hayes and Sons Construction in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Glenn’s love of the west brought him to Montana and the Helena valley. This love for the west and Montana living is evident in every home that Frontier Builders builds. Large wood timbers and extensive rock work are a trademark of Frontier Builders homes. These natural materials and Frontier’s unique home designs bring Montana’s beautiful landscapes to everyday living. Frontier Builders has over thirty-five years combined experience in the Custom Home industry, building homes that range from Rustic Log Hideaways to Modern Showplaces. Glenn’s oldest son Mike has worked along side him full-time since 1994 and has been essential to the everyday management and operation of the company. Glenn’s youngest son Matt joined the company full-time in 2003 after graduating from Crown College in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Matt brings fresh perspective and creativity to an already strong business.


Glenn Hayes has been the soul owner and operator since the businesses incorporation in 1998. In January of 2004, his two sons Mike and Matt joined in the leadership of the corporation and have since been essential to the new growth of the company. With this new partnership, Frontier Builders has been able to expand, create business partnerships and promote new ideas.

Also, with this new partnership Frontier Builders has been able to maintain and develop its existing Custom Home clientele. The demand of Custom Homes is increasing everyday; Frontier Builders has realized this fact from the very beginning. We have been successful because we have fulfilled a unique niche in this market. This “niche” is quality, well thought out homes that reflect the character and distinctiveness of Montana living. We believe that each home we build should be as unique as the people that live in them. We are adamant that the custom home we build for our customers is the “dream” home that they envisioned. We will spend as much time as needed with the customer to make sure that happens. What truly sets us apart is our commitment to quality craftsmanship and excellence in customer service.


With this new partnership Frontier Builders has also been able to move into different markets then it has previously operated in. This is possible by being able to have experienced personnel in charge of various aspects of the business. These diverse markets reach into many different demographic groups. This is the key to our current success. We are establishing ourselves in different markets that do not detour or damage our preexisting business. The Custom Home, Spec Home (homes that are built purely for resale) and Condominium Community are three very different markets that do not draw business away from one or the other. This is true because each of these three are geared and marketed towards distinctively different target markets.
